According to the exam guide, the recommended experience before taking this exam is at least 1 year of hands-on experience designing cloud solutions using AWS services. However, there are candidates with 1 to 3 years of IT experience who have been able to prepare and obtain this certification as a starting point in their AWS cloud learning and certification journey. Candidates without IT work experience would benefit from first obtaining the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certificate to gain foundational knowledge of the AWS cloud before attempting the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certificate.
